In 2005, millions of people participated in International Day of Peace commemorations across more than 60 countries, including Australia.
In support of United Nations resolution 55/282 an alliance was formed in Brisbane, Australia on the 2005 Peace Day.
The International Day of Peace Alliance has as its sole charter, to raise awareness of the day and encourage participation across all cultures, religions and peoples. Comprised of about 15 volunteers from different backgrounds and organisations, we are a catalyst organisation, raising awareness of the day through maximising our networks.
Put simply, as an organisation we could organise one or two events, but by talking to people about the Peace Day, we can encourage many others to hold events and commemorate the day!
Our Power Point Presentation gives a good overview, click on the icon below to view and enjoy the music and relaxing theme!
